A menu guide is only useful if you can trust it. This page sets out how Panera Menu researches, checks, updates and corrects its content, so you can judge our work for yourself instead of taking our word for it.
Where our information comes from
Every guide starts from primary sources wherever we can get them: the chain’s published menus, official price and nutrition listings, and the ordering menus shown to customers in different regions. Where sources disagree, and they often do on price, we compare ordering-app menus across several locations before settling on the range or figure we publish. Restaurant-industry reporting and reader reports fill gaps, but they never stand alone on a factual claim we can check another way.
How we verify before publishing
Nothing goes live on a single pass. Drafts are checked line by line against source material: item names spelled the way the menu spells them, prices matched to at least one live listing, nutrition figures traced to an official table or flagged as estimates. An editor other than the writer reads each new guide with one job: find the mistake. Guides that involve allergens get an extra check and extra-cautious wording, because the cost of a sloppy sentence there is not embarrassment, it’s someone’s health.
How we keep guides current
Menus refuse to sit still, so neither do we. Popular guides are re-checked on a rolling schedule, and any guide is reviewed immediately when the chain announces a menu change, a seasonal launch or a price adjustment. Reader corrections jump the queue: when someone writes in with evidence that a price or item has changed, we verify it and update the page rather than waiting for its turn. Articles that change substantially are edited in place, so the address you bookmarked keeps pointing at the corrected information.
Corrections policy
We make mistakes. Print-era publications buried corrections on page 94; we would rather be open. When a reader report or our own review turns up an error, we fix the guide and, for anything significant, add a brief note in the article about what changed. If you spot something wrong, email admin@paneramenulist.us with the page and the detail. Corrections sent by readers get credited in our internal log, and honestly, they’re the backbone of this site’s accuracy.
Photographs and credits
We do not lift images from the chain’s website or from other publishers. Photos on Panera Menu are openly licensed images, many sourced from Wikimedia Commons, and each carries a credit to its photographer and licence where it is used. If you are a photographer and believe one of your images appears here wrongly, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.
Sponsored content and commercial relationships
Our coverage is not for sale. No restaurant, brand or advertiser can pay for a kinder description, a better ranking or a quiet deletion. The site earns money through display advertising, which our editors don’t select and don’t see before publication. If we ever publish content that a commercial partner has paid for or materially supported, it will be labelled clearly as sponsored, in the content itself, where no reader can miss it. Unlabelled paid coverage does not happen here.
A note on tools and AI
Being straight with you: our team uses digital tools, including AI assistants, for parts of the research and drafting process, the way a newsroom uses a spellchecker or a database. No guide is published on a machine’s say-so. Every article is checked against real menu sources and edited by a human editor who is accountable for what’s on the page. If a fact can’t be verified by a person, it doesn’t go in, whatever a tool suggested.
Independence
Panera Menu has no commercial relationship with Panera Bread. We buy our own soup. That independence cuts both ways: we can praise the broccoli cheddar without it being an advert, and we can say a seasonal item isn’t worth its price without worrying about a partner’s feelings. Long may it stay that way.
